Brief info

Agbenyega Kwame Amezah is an agriculturist and a Lawyer by profession. He holds a BSc (Hons) Degree in Agriculture from the University of Ghana (1982), Master of Science Degree in Applied Science from the University of Cambridge, U.K. (1988), and a PhD in Agriculture Development from the University of Western Sydney, Australia (1998). In 2010 he obtained a Master of Science Degree in Public Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and obtained a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from GIMPA (2016) . He successfully completed a Barrister of law (BL) course at the Ghana School of Law (2018) and was called to the Bar in 2018.

He was employed by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (1984-2018) where he was appointed as the National Director of Agriculture Extension Services from 2005 till his retirement in 2018. He also worked as FAO International Consultant on Agriculture Extension (Banjul, Gambia 2018 to 2019) and FAO International Expert in Agriculture Research & Extension Policy (Monrovia, Liberia 2021 to 2023). He also taught as part-time lecturer in (a) undergraduate Research Methods at the Methodist University College, Accra (2006-2013) and (b) Public Administration (post-graduate level) at GIMPA (2011-2021). He is now working as a private legal practitioner with Hayibor-Gyarbeng law firm in Accra.

He served on the Management and Governing Boards of various public service organizations including the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Ghana Irrigation Authority (GIDA), Export Development Fund (EDF), Management Committee of Cocoa Services Division (CSD) of COCOBOD and the Management Committee of the Oil Palm Research Institute.
